Mark Buttsworth has been crowned the Curley Cattle Transport Classic Champion for the 4th time with Rodger Grant’s Branchvale Metal Alloy, just weeks out from a serious injury! Having only returned to the saddle early last week, it’s testament to the horsemanship skills Buttsy is renowned for. In the last few years his focus has been Campdraft & Cutting, but Cowhorse events of late have seen him rise to the pinnacle of success, including the 2022 ARBC Australia’s Greatest Horseman Championship Title.
2012 was the last time Mark competed at Cloncurry, but having a great horse and a $40,000 carrot proved to be a great drawcard this year. Mark commended the Committee’s huge efforts to insure the $$$ were commensurate with the cost of the travel.
Congratulations Mark, you never fail to amaze!
Here are his previous winners.
- 2004: Riverview Topfire
- 2000: Double Doc
- 1998: Almora Doc’s Recoil
